Dr. John Ullmann, Emeritus Professor of Management

The Hofstra community is saddened to learn of the passing of Emeritus Professor of Management, Dr. John Ullmann.

Dr. Ullmann joined Hofstra as Chairman and Professor in the Department of Management-Marketing and Business Statistics in 1961. He continued teaching as an Adjunct Professor in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business’ Department of Information Technology and Quantitative Methods until spring 2007.

  1. I was his secretary for five years. He was unbelievably patient with me. Most importantly, his influence on a small town girl is emeasurable. He taught me acceptance of new ideas, not to be afraid to disagree, and how one can change things. Not too be dramtic, but I am sure he had no idea how he changed me into a better more active person/citizen. I will never forget him.
